SIX weeks on from the day that Old Oak Primary School in East Acton closed its doors, it staged a book exchange with a difference.
Staff were in the school playground in Mellitus Street - in their pyjamas - waiting to greet families who came to borrow a book.
Normally, May 1 would be the the Book Trust’s Pyjamarama Day, celebrating stories while snuggling up in pyjamas.
Instead, families were encouraged to use their daily exercise to visit the Lockdown Library, while dressed in their own pyjamas.
More than 200 books were on display for the children to choose, ranging from picture books to science fiction chapter books.
