ONE of the University of West London’s most inspirational graduates, Ricky Raymond Singh, has died after contracting Covid-19.
He was a highly-respected human rights barrister, who graduated in 2001 and began a career dedicated to helping others, tackling discrimination and hate crime as director of the Ealing-based West London Equality Centre.
He remained an active member of UWL Law School’s alumni throughout his career and continued to co-ordinate placements and work experience for students.
In recognition of his outstanding work, Mr Singh was awarded an honorary degree from UWL in 2014.
Prof Peter John, UWL Vice-Chancellor, said: “Ricky was an inspirational figure for our School of Law and for local people, spending much of his time helping people wherever he could.”
Mr Singh, a father of eight, lived in Ealing.
