EALING residents can help shape education across the borough at a school governor information evening at the University of West London.
Schools across the country rely on the professional skills of volunteer governors to help drive improvement, give strategic direction, and monitor and evaluate pupil progress.
UWL’s Outreach team has joined forces with Ealing Council and Governors for Schools to host a recruitment event on Wednesday, March 25, 6-8pm.
It’s open to anyone interested in taking the first steps to becoming a school governor and offers a chance to speak to teachers from schools as well as university staff currently volunteering in the role.
Professor Anthony Woodman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at UWL, said: “Being a school governor is a great way to make a real difference to young people and give something back to your community while developing your own professional skills at board level.”
