Murder detectives have named a woman who died after being found with multiple stab wounds at a residential address in Leyton.

Li Qing Wang, 35, was found in an address in Magnolia Close suffering from fatal injuries just before midday yesterday (Tuesday, February 25).

Emergency services were unable to save her life and she died at the scene.

Officers have yet to complete a formal identification, however they are satisfied the victim is Ms Wang of Leyton.

A man, aged 54, who was also inside the property, was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

A post-mortem examination will take place this week.

Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are investigating. They are led by Detective Chief Inspector Paul Considine, who has made an appeal to Mrs Wang’s family and friends and members of the local community to come forward with information.

DCI Considine, said: “To understand why this tragic incident occurred I would urge anyone that knew the victim well and had insight into her domestic situation to contact my team.

“At this time we are not looking for any further suspects, and are working hard to piece the evidence together - I believe Mrs Wang’s friends can help us achieve that.

“For those who would like to speak to us but whose first language is not English, we will arrange an interpreter. We would like to thank everyone who has so far spoken with officers and assisted the investigation in its early stages.

“This is the worst of times for Mrs Wang’s family and loved ones and we will continue to provide specialist support.”
