Climate protesters are gathering to express their concern of a new incinerator.
Extinction Rebellion Enfield is calling for people to join the environmental movement on January 25 to highlight the severe climate implications of a new incinerator in Edmonton and more broadly the ongoing ecological crisis.
The group is asking for anyone interested to join, whether from Enfield or the neighbouring boroughs of Barnet, Haringey, Waltham Forest, Hackney and Camden.
In July 2019, Enfield Council declared a state of climate emergency and its commitment to make the authority carbon neutral by 2030 or sooner.
The Enfield Extinction Rebellion group will be addressing their concerns at the protest that “the Council is still not acting quickly enough”.
Protestors will meet at the drinking fountain outside Nando’s at Enfield Town Centre from 12 to 2pm on January 25.
