THE Christmas lights at Acton Gardens, the £600m regeneration of the former South Acton Estate, are now officially switched on.
Members of the Bollo Brook Youth Centre performed festive items, followed by carols from the Berrymede Junior School choir.
Members of the Acton Gardens Community Board then officially switched on the lights alongside Mike Woolliscroft, MD Partnerships South (West) for Countryside, and Anna Allan, Senior Regeneration Manager at L&Q, whose firms are transforming the estate.
The Christmas tree is located outside the new community centre just off Bollo Bridge Road, which was opened alongside the youth centre in July. Next year, a nursery, GP surgery and more shops will be added.
Once completed around 2028, Acton Gardens will have 3,463 homes, of which half are for either social rent or part ownership (by habitable room).
