It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Enfield.

Enfield Town is now sparkling with Christmas lights after a lights switch-on celebration at the Palace Shopping centre on Saturday.

The celebrations started from 1pm, with huge crowds gathering to see Elvish, a pair of Elvis Presley elf impersonators, as well as enjoying live music and Frozen theatre performances from the Magic If theatre.

A Christmas parade led by a man dressed as Santa Claus took place from Costa to the stage outside Marks & Spencer before the switch-on on at 5pm.

Palace Shopping centre manager Paul Duke said: “It has been fantastic to see so many families and shoppers enjoying our Christmas launch at Palace Shopping today.

“There has been plenty of Christmas spirit with everyone loving the entertainment. It was a wonderful start to the busy Christmas season at Palace Shopping.”

Other attractions included 'celebrity Reindeer' Prancer and Dancer, who strutted their stuff on bouncy stilts.
