A HAYES man who robbed and raped a women at knife-point has been jailed.

Diljeet Grewal, 28, of Windsor Gardens, was sentenced to 15 years, with a further five years on licence after release, at Isleworth Crown Court.

He had previously been found guilty of rape, sexual assault and aggravated burglary at the same court in August.

Grewal met his victim, a woman in her 30s, at her home, where he produced a knife and threatened her before carrying out a sustained attack which lasted for two and a half hours.

After he left, the woman was able to call a friend outside the UK, who in turn contacted police.

Officers found Grewal lurking outside the home and recovered the knife he had wielded.

Det Con Mark Palmer, who led the investigation, said: “I would like to thank the victim for her bravery in supporting our investigation and identifying Grewal as her attacker.”
