EALING Charity Christmas Card Shop opened its doors for the 35th year at the Church of Christ the Saviour, New Broadway, today (29).

The volunteer-run shop was opened by Stephen Pound MP and the Mayor of Ealing, Cllr Abdullah Gulaid.

It sells cards from more than 30 charities and is one of only a few such shops where 100 per cent of the money raised goes to charity.

Organiser and founder Sue Green said: “It’s our incredible army of volunteers who make this possible. We are so lucky to have the help of more than 70 who work tirelessly to keep the shop running six days a week.”

Last year, the shop raised £24,000 for 30 charities. Since it was started in 1985, it has sold more than five million cards, served 21,000 customers and raised £600,000.

It will be open Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm up to Thursday, December 19, at Christ the Saviour, New Broadway, Ealing W5 2XA.
