A FRIDAY club for older people in Ealing has been launched by Home Instead Senior Care and A2Dominion housing.

The MP for Ealing North, Steve Pound, hosted an opening event to celebrate the launch at West Ealing’s Orchard Café, where the club will meet every Friday from 10am-noon.

The aim is to provide older adults the opportunity to meet new people, visit friends and enjoy a range of activities to support their wellbeing – along with free tea, coffee and cake.

Residential property group A2Dominion is partnering with home care provider Home Instead, reinforcing a joint commitment to tacking loneliness.

Each week, different activities will be available, including table tennis, board games, music, crafts, memory games and puzzles. There is no charge for the event.

Guests at the opening were treated to a performance by the Love 2 Sing Choir and addressed by Mr Pound.

He said: “With so many people living their lives online, there has never been a more important time for us to come together.”

Tony Hussain, owner of Home Instead Senior Care, added: “Later life should be enjoyed. It’s the time of life when you’ve done all of your hard work and raised your family.”

Dawn Wightman, director of housing services at A2Dominion, said: “Reducing isolation is a key purpose for our organisation.”
