Watford Borough Council is supporting Fun Palaces, a free, nationwide campaign to encourage people to get involved in the local community and be inspired by culture.

Fun Palaces create events that bring together arts, science, craft, tech, digital, heritage and sports activities – but above all people – to work together, create together, have fun together, and in doing so, connect communities.

Join the council and other local organisations on Saturday, October 5, and Sunday, October 6, as they host free events and activities for all ages.

The free activities planned are:

Saturday, October 5

• Visit the intu Atrium (part of the new intu extension) where you can watch science experiment demonstrations, from 11am to 3pm, and Hartbeeps classes for babies and toddlers featuring music and puppets

Watford Museum Little Gallery Tea Room will be hosting free events including a puppetry workshop and crochet rosettes from 10.30am to 4pm

• North Watford Library, from 11am to 1pm. There will be an art group, a knitting group and some limerick making taking place

Sunday, October 6

• Watford Central Library, from 1.30 to 4.00pm. Drop-in art workshops by Watford Recycling Arts Project (WRAP), theatre and dance workshops

Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “It’s great to be able to support nationwide campaigns. Fun Palaces is a great way to get out and about in the local community and see what’s on offer. There’s a number of events taking place in the town, so please do come along.”
