WORK on redeveloping the old Acton Town Hall site for housing is now complete.
One Housing worked with Ealing Council and English Heritage to convert it into 71 studio apartments, 58 of them in the old town hall itself and the remainder in an extension.
Highlight is the old council chamber, which is now transformed into a huge open living space, featuring timber panelling and four bedrooms.
The Grade II listed building’s façade is retained, as are many of the features, including art deco doors, ornate fireplaces and the original wood-panelled walls.

Since the handover of homes began in March, 70% of the apartments have already been sold.
The Mayor of Ealing, Cllr Abdullah Gulaid, and Ealing-Acton MP Rupa Huq were among the guests at a ceremony to mark the completion.
Dr Huq said: “It was great to finally see the result of the many years of work that went into the restoration of this magnificent building.”
Mike Johnson, One Housing group director of development, said profits from sales would pay for further new affordable homes.
