DETECTIVES investigating the fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old man in Southall have charged a man.

Sufi Osman, from Slough, was found with stab injuries outside a shop in The Broadway, Southall, near the junction with Saxon Road, on Monday at 4am.

He was taken to hospital but pronounced dead shortly after.

Samater Hirad, 21, of no fixed address, is charged with murder and possession of a blade. He will appear at Ealing Magistrates Court today.

Det Chief Insp Robert Pack is still appealing for information about the incident.

He said: “We believe there would have been people still around who would have seen what happened.

“It appears the victim was chased across the road at one point. Then, both the victim and his assailant may have briefly collided with a passing car.

“This car, which we believe to be a dark-coloured VW Polo or Golf hatchback, did not stop.

“It is quite possible the driver did not realise what was happening and we urgently need this person to come forward.

“Let me assure the car’s driver we only wish to speak to them as a witness to the murder investigation.

“We also need people who were in Southall Broadway to come forward. You may have seen people hanging around or the build-up to the stabbing and motorists may have been recording their journey on a dashcam.

“We are keeping an open mind on the motive for this attack and any speculation is just rumour and unhelpful.”

Witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 or contact via Twitter @MetCC. Please quote CAD 826/23SEP.
