McDonald’s raises money at a half marathon to support children undergoing medical treatment.

A McDonald's branch in Shaftesbury Circle was one of the sponsors for Harrow Half, an annual half marathon which took place on September 15, with the help of various other volunteers from McDonald’s branches around Harrow, Stanmore and High Wycombe.

While people participated in the run, the McDonald’s volunteers handed out fruit bags and offered free face painting to encourage the runners.

Kurt Kurt Jansen, the franchisee of the Shaftesbury Circle branch, was among one of the runners, who finished the 13.1 miles run in under one hour and 50 minutes.

All funds raised McDonald’s participants went towards the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) which supports families while their child is undergoing medical treatment in their partnered specialist children’s hospitals across the UK.

Mr Jansen said: “This year’s Harrow Half Marathon had a great turn out and it was fantastic to see so many runners, volunteers and sponsors taking part.

“I would like to thank my team of McDonald’s volunteers for giving their spare time to help out with the event supporting the local community where possible. Look forward to seeing everyone again next year in September, when I’m going to beat my time!”
