FOUR linked assaults that took place in Hayes are being investigated by police.
On Monday (16), a 33-year-old man was robbed of his mobile phone in Botwell Lane, by a man with a beard riding a bicycle and armed with a hammer at 7.21pm. The victim was threatened, but not injured.
Shortly after, also in Botwell Lane, a man was attacked by someone of the same description, again riding a bike, who struck the victim on the head with a hammer. The injuries are not serious, though he wento to hospital.
Then, at 7.40pm in Beechwood Avenue a 30-year-old man was threatened by someone with a hammer. He was not injured.

Finally, at 11pm, police were called to reports of a 54-year-old man who had been taken to a hospital with head injuries after being attacked from behind.
It is believed he was attacked in the area of Keith Road. His condition is not life threatening, though he has been left with serious injuries.
Det Insp Elly Maggs said: “It is vital we identify, locate and apprehend the man responsible as a matter of urgency.”
