A SPECIAL council meeting has been arranged as councillors failed to debate and vote on any motions this week.

Wednesday's meeting lasted for nearly four hours but honorary titles, procedural matters and councillors' questions to the executive took up much of the allocated time.

There was also a debate and vote on the council's decision to sell a field in Horwich for the purposes of housebuilding.

No time was left for motions on regulating the bus network and signing up to a trade union's construction charter.

The additional meeting will take place on Thursday, August 29 at 7pm at Bolton Town Hall.
