THE search for the UK’s Best Park is underway, with Ealing and Acton receiving a double nomination for Acton Park and Walpole Park in a competition organised by green space charity, Fields in Trust.
A total of 364 public nominations were made, 45 of them in London.
Ealing Central and Acton MP Rupa Huq said: “Other MP friends of mine are chuffed to have just one contender. I’m lucky enough to have one apiece in Ealing and Acton.
“Both are outstanding and this double whammy is befitting for Ealing which is the London borough with the most green open spaces and parks.”

It lends bikes, skateboards, sports equipment, roller skates and go-karts, organises art, gardening and cookery session and, on a typical Saturday afternoon, hosts around 40 children.
In Walpole Park, Rupa Huq attended the home-grown Ealing Blues Festival where she enjoyed meeting musicians in the birthplace of British R’n’B.
