STUDENTS from the Global Academy in Hayes are preparing for careers at employers like Google, Global, IMG Studios and Premier, League Productions as well as advertising agencies, as part of their Post-18 results celebrations.

Global is a unique school based at the Old Vinyl Factory site in Record Walk, Hayes, on the old EMI site.

It specialises in broadcast and digital media, with all sixth-form students studying a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology, validated by the University of Arts in London.

The school, for Year 10-13 students, was founded by media and entertainment group Global, home to Capital FM, Heart and Classic FM.

Mia Collins, 18, is embarking on a digital marketing apprenticeship with Google. She travelled two hours each way to attend Global from her home in Wantage, Oxfordshire.

She was selected to attend the Royal Television Society’s annual student conference and worked with IMG and Premier League Productions on a live TV training project.
