An attempted burglary at a swimming pool left a trail of broken glass around the office after stealing an empty till.

Hatch End swimming pool, Pinner, had an empty till stolen after an attempted burglary last night (August 9).

The intruders left a corner of their point of entry, the female changing rooms, damaged with broken glass. Lifeguards and staff at the swimming pool became aware of the situation just before opening the facilities this morning (August 10).

Police were called at 6:43am to investigate the incident and the swimming pool was temporarily closed until around 9:00 am.

The point of entry is still cordened off as police continue their investigation. The rest of the facilities are operational.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “The burglary is believed to have taken place overnight. There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.”
