A pub which closed after being rated one-star for food hygiene has re-opened with new owners.

The Estcourt Arms on St John’s Road in Watford opened on May 30 (Thursday) after six months of closure. It has now been refurbished and is under a new owner, Your Local Pub Co.

The pub previously received a one-star rating by the Food Standards Agency and closed in November last year.

The new owner hopes the pub will be an amenity for the community, and for commuters who may want a drink after a long day of work.

Watford Observer:

The pub is hoping to revamp the garden and to build a stage to support bands and musicians in the area. It will be organising live music nights every Friday.

Owners from Your Local Pub Co, Tony Harding and Antony Rosier, said: “For us it’s about giving the community what they deserve and we’re trying to focus on finding local bands who are in Watford who have a good voice and give them their chance to perform.

Watford Observer:

"It's about locals who may just want to relax and have good drink and we're making sure we're communicating with them.

“Every pub is different and unique and with Estcourt Arms it’s about keeping it local.”
