A former James Bond stuntman who will turn 80 in September has won a national tennis tournament.

For more than 20 years, Mike Potter has performed and co-ordinated stunts in some of Britain's biggest films including Harry Potter and James Bond.

Despite his remarkable CV, Mr Potter is delighted with his latest exploits - winning at the over 80s British Open in Bournemouth.

A former gymnast, trampolinist, water skier, and stuntman, Mr Potter, from St Albans, could not hide his joy winning the competition.

The West Herts Sports Club member said: "It feels amazing, I'm just so pleased. I took up tennis in my 60s and I have played in England and Spain but this is the biggest achievement so far. It's the biggest of the year and I was able to beat someone who had always beaten me before.

"I've got plans to continue playing until I'm 85."

Mr Potter's film career began in 1981. He has performed stunts in Bond's For Your Eyes Only and A View to Kill, Robin Hood, Johnny English, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, to name just a few.
