PLANS to build affordable homes in Old Southall took a step forward today as Ealing Council and housing association Peabody signed a contract to build The Green, a major regeneration scheme.
The Green will feature commercial space, 260 jobs and around 500 homes by 2024.
With half of them being affordable homes, the scheme will help meet housing needs in the town.

Public spaces will enable community activities and events, as well as enhancing links to Southall station and the new Elizabeth Line (Crossrail).
Ealing Council chose Peabody as its preferred development partner following a competitive tender process in 2018.
Peabody is one of the oldest and largest housing associations in London and has more than 55,000 homes across the capital and the South East.
