A TEACHER and mother of two is one of 21 regional winners of the City of Stories writing competition.
It is the first time Alison Jermak, 38, has had her work published. It is called New Baby.
A Northolt resident for 12 years, she said: “I lead writing groups for teachers, young people and children because I’m passionate about giving young people the opportunity to write for themselves.”

More than 800 people took part in 42 City of Stories workshops in the summer, inspiring 313 competition entries.
All 62 stories are featured in the City of Stories anthology alongside commissioned pieces by the programme’s writers in residence.
Alison and the other 20 winners will also have the chance to read their stories at open mic events in libraries across London in November.
