A STUDENT from Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College is the winner of National Geographic Traveller UK’s third annual photography competition at the Telegraph Outdoor Adventure and Travel Show.
Jonathan Borja’s photograph of The Colour Run in Colombia earns him a 15-day trip to the Arctic.
Prior to moving to Ealing in September, to study English as a Foreign Language, he graduated in fine arts and has worked as a photojournalist for a national Colombian newspaper. He came third out of 100,000 in a Nikon worldwide photography competition.
He enjoys spending time in the parks and restaurants and likes the architecture of the borough.
His simple advice to aspiring photographers: “The only difference between a professional and an amateur is dedication. You need to take pictures every day and be very disciplined.
“Don’t stop working. Some people say ‘you have won a lot of prizes’ but I have entered hundreds of competitions. There is some luck, some talent. Just keep taking pictures.”
