A MAN was yesterday sentenced to six years in jail following an assault in Ealing last October.
Lorand Galaczi, 26, punched a man at a bus stop on The Mall. Special constables came to the aid of the victim and arrested the suspect.
Detective Constable Amrita Djanjal, of Ealing Police, said: “The prison sentence reflects the seriousness of this crime and sends a strong message that the criminal justice system takes violence on our streets seriously.”
The victim needed suffered a fractured skull and underwent surgery in a west London hospital.
“Please let this be a warning to others, that a single punch can result in life-changing injuries, like those sustained by the victim in this incident," said DC Djanjal.
"More than five months later, the victim is still receiving treatment for his injuries from which he may never fully recover.”
