Whitefriars artists, who are based in the iconic Winsor & Newton building on Whitefriars Avenue, Wealdstone, will open their studios this weekend, on Saturday, September 21, and Sunday, September 22, between 12pm and 6pm, to coincide with the Open House event in London.

Alongside, they are also holding an exhibition of their work in the spacious gallery until Thursday, September 26.

The exhibition will showcase the many and varying talents of the Whitefriars’ artists in an expansive display.

The artists will also have work on show in their studios and people will be able to talk to the artists and find out about their work. Practices include painting, drawing, photography, installation and sculpture.

The studios and gallery opened in August 2017 after major alterations of the building had taken place and is the first hub of its kind in the Borough.

Links are being made within the local community in order to develop and encourage the arts in Harrow, including an art competition earlier this year for 16 to 18 year olds. This resulted in an exhibition of the successful students’ work in the main gallery.
