Colour, movement and the interaction caused by these two elements in a constantly changing environment are explored in a new exhibition, What Do You See?, at Harrow Arts Centre.

Pinner fine artist Emma Norman, 23, the Young Associate Artist at Harrow Arts Centre, uses materials such as perspex and acrylic in her artworks, to present, she says: “freedom and fluidity in a contained space”.

The works created by the former Nower Hill school student are frenzied expressions of colour, which can draw comparison with the works of Howard Hodgkin.

Emma, who is currently undertaking her Gold Arts award at the centre, says: “One of my personal challenges is to have my first solo exhibition.

“So far I have only been part of group shows, but I now feel I am ready to venture out alone.”

Harrow Arts Centre, Uxbridge Road, Hatch End, until Monday, August 25. Details: 020 8416 8989,
