Mark Warburton praised his side’s resilience as QPR came from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Hull City in their Championship clash at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Fourth-placed Rangers went a goal down after on-loan Brentford striker Marcus Forss’ shot cannoned in off the bar in the 26th minute but a cross from Moses Odubajo to Ilias Chair rescued a point for the home side, who remain in the mix for promotion to the Premier League.

The draw extends the Rs' winless run to four games as Hull struggle at the other end of the table but are 13 points above the relegation zone.

Nevertheless, Warburton was pleased with the way his team got a deserved point.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “After two lacklustre displays, we needed that level of performance in the second half.

“The first half was slow and laboured but I was far more impressed with the second-half performance.

“We moved the ball quicker. There needed to be a change of pace and that change hurts teams.”

Despite their impressive second-half performance, Warburton admits his players were still disappointed with the result.

He said: “The players are despondent because they feel it is two points dropped but that is what this league is like.

“Look at the other results today with teams around us dropping points.

“I was pleased with the second-half performance and now we have to take that into Wednesday night against Blackpool.”

After the equaliser, Warburton felt his side's late dominance deserved a winning goal, but late chances for Chris Willock went begging.

The QPR boss added: “We scored a nice goal with a great ball from Moses Odubajo and then the crowd obviously expect us to go and win the game.

“We were dominant, we were picking up second balls and we looked a good team.

“I think the fans saw the team on the front foot which is really key for QPR.”

QPR’s next game is at home against 15th-placed Blackpool on Wednesday night.
