London United got off to a quick start in their first game of the EBL campaign away to Kingston Wildcats on Sunday afternoon.

United sprinted out of the blocks to go 9-0 up before Kingston scored and then went on another run to go 15 up with Deppisch, Reid and Machynia all scoring from beyond the 3 point arc.

Wildcats brought it back to 18-28 at the end of the 1st quarter through some accurate shooting themselves from Hiller, Gray and Selsby however the bigger United team never looked rattled at any stage.

Wildcats managed to up the tempo in the 2nd quarter and bring the game back to 2 points at 37-39 with repeated 3's from Selsby and Addy however London closed out the half to go 3 up at 37-40 with some good team work and unselfish play from Machynia finding Deppisch open for another 3 pointer.

The second half was a very one sided affair with United starting the quarter with a 15-2 run as Ataha found his way to the basket on the break scoring 8 of those points.

Time and time again Deppisch was found open by his team mates to nail long range shots and on two occasions even found a mismatch in the low post to score with moves going to the basket.

He finished the game with a game high 31 points (7 x 3's) and was ably backed up by Santa Ataha with 22, Reid with 17 and Machynia 15.

United looked to strong for Wildcats who were playing their first game of the season after having to pass on the National Trophy and Cup competitions due to home court issues.
