De Canio fumes at referee

QPR manager Luigi De Canio slated the referee after their 2-0 defeat to champions West Brom yesterday.

The R's started brightly before skipper Martin Rowlands was sent off for a late challenge after 37 minutes.

De Canio raged: "We prepared ourselves for a great game so that we could celebrate the end of our season but I believe the referee ruined the game.

"He offended me, he offended the fans and he offended my players."

Rangers ended their campaign with defeat but the unveiling of a new club badge was highlighted as the dawn of a new era.
