New Harlequins general manager Billy Millard insists he has arrived at the Stoop with one thing on his mind - victory.

Millard teams up with new head of rugby Paul Gustard, who took over from John Kingston last month after leaving his post as the defence coach of the England national team.

Last season, Quins finished tenth in the Premiership – level on points with 11th-placed Worcester Warriors - with just seven wins all campaign.

The long-serving Kingston departed and a club restructure will now see Gustard and Millard work in tandem to oversee first-team affairs.

Millard brings a wealth of experience to the table having served in similar roles at Melbourne Rebels, Connacht and Cardiff Blues.

“It is a privilege to be joining a club with such a strong pedigree,” said the 48-year-old Australian.

“Harlequins is a prestigious brand on and off the field which I’m looking forward to contributing to.

“I’m committed to delivering a high-performance environment for the players that translates into sustained on-field success. I am here to win and I look forward to helping make that happen.”

Harlequins’ Chief Executive David Ellis added: “Billy impressed with his character and attitude and is the right guy to set us on the path to delivering the biggest prizes at Harlequins.

“Billy will work closely with Paul Gustard to produce an environment that breeds success and he is joining at an exciting moment for the club.

“We believe our new management team will take a big step to helping us achieve our mission of taking Harlequins back to the top of English and European rugby.”
