QPR boss Ian Holloway revealed his frustration after Kemar Roofe’s second-half hat-trick consigned the Hoops to defeat at the hands of Leeds at Loftus Road.

Roofe netted twice before Pawel Wszolek’s freak effort gave Holloway’s men the slightest hope going into added time on Saturday.

However, Roofe struck once more seconds from the whistle to complete his hat-trick and boost Leeds’ play-off ambitions, lifting Thomas Christiansen’s charges to seventh.

The defeat saw Rangers slip to 19th, six points clear of the relegation zone, and left a bitter taste in the mouth of their Bristolian manager.

"I thought we played well in the first half, but we couldn't get the breakthrough goal I thought we deserved,” said Holloway. “It’s bitterly disappointing.

"We didn't need half-time, because we were the team in the ascendancy at that point. A five-minute spell in the second half cost us though.

"We didn't defend the first goal well. Roofe rarely wins a header in the box like that.

"The late goal gave us hope, but then we gave away a third goal, which was so disappointing.

"The way we defended that third goal was really poor."
