John Kingston admitted his Harlequins side will have to be on their finest form if they are to upset the apple cart against Saracens.

Quins are looking to avoid a third Premiership defeat in a row when the sides meet at Twickenham Stoop on Sunday.

Sarries, while out of form themselves after four defeats in a row in all competitions, sit second in the league with Quins currently eighth.

But a recent Anglo-Welsh Cup triumph against Sarries could give Kingston’s side a psychological edge as they chase a fifth league win of the season.

“We have had some thunderous games against Saracens in the last couple of years,” said Kingston.

"They are European champions and set the benchmark in English rugby and we will need to be at our very best to get the right result.”

Meanwhile, Quins have been boosted with the news Ben Glynn has put pen to paper on a new contract extension with the club.

The 26-year-old joined from Bristol Rugby in the summer and has made 12 appearances, scoring his first try in the Anglo-Welsh Cup against Worcester Warriors.

Glynn, who can play second or back row, said: "I'm really excited about extending my contract with Harlequins.

“I've been enjoying my rugby and I'm looking forward to continuing to work with this great group of players and coaches."

Kingston added: "I'm absolutely delighted that we've extended the contract of Ben. We initially signed him for one year, but we've been extremely impressed with his progression and we're thrilled he's extended his deal at Harlequins."
