Brentford boss Dean Smith believes even the best in the Championship would have struggled to live with his side at times as they came from two goals down to beat Burton Albion 5-3 on Saturday.

Albion led Brentford 3-1 going into the break thanks to a superb first half display which saw a Marvin Sordell brace and Cauley Woodrow goal cancel out Sergi Canos’ early opener.

But the Londoners smashed in four goals in a dominant second half to end Burton’s six game unbeaten run.

Lasse Vibe and Canos netted to level things at 3-3, before Vibe and Jota struck twice within a minute to settle the game in Brentford's favour.

The result extended Brentford’s unbeaten away run to four games, leaving Smith delighted with his players’ performances.

"It's like this every other week! It came as no surprise to us,” he said.

"We knew that we were capable of scoring three goals in 45 minutes and we have got that belief in the team. At times our attacking play was hard for anybody to live with.

"Burton have been very organised and solid. I just thought that in the second half we moved the ball much quicker and our substitutes made an impact when they came on, bringing pace and energy to the game.

"We did not give up and got our rewards.

"I demanded a response and that is what I got, I am really pleased for the lads and the fans.

“We had some real quality in the second half and to come back in the way we did is fantastic.

"We showed what we can do in the second half and I hope we can build on that in the next game."
