Will Collier has plenty of positive memories of the Twickenham Stoop as he prepares for his 100th Harlequins appearance and he isn’t ruling out an attempt to double that tally.

Fly-half Nick Evans is already there and will become part of the 200 club on Sunday as part of a double celebration ahead of the Quins match against Bath.

Collier, a Harlequins academy graduate, made his first team debut in Abu Dhabi in a special Anglo-Welsh Cup game against Wasps and, despite injuries, has been a key member of the squad since.

And it’s the memories closer to home, at the Twickenham Stoop, which he will hold most dear when he runs out to a full house at the weekend.

“It’s one of those things I have tried to push to the back of my mind and not think about,” Collier said.

“It’s a lot but it gets put into perspective when Nick Evans has 200, but to join the 100 club is fantastic.

“It’s a huge honour to be part of that, I have some amazing memories here and it’s an amazing landmark to reach.

“I try not to look too far ahead; I have had bad injuries in the past so I know how things can be taken away from you. It’s in the back of your mind to reach 200 and it would be an amazing achievement.”

With James Horwill missing this weekend’s clash due to a finger injury, George Merrick comes into the second row with Jack Clifford returning from England duty to start at No.8.

It means that the entire Harlequins pack to take on Bath, including Collier, will have graduated from the Harlequins academy something that the 25-year-old thinks will benefit them on the pitch.

“It’s a very strong (academy) system and we are very proud of it and the players we produce,” he said.

“There will be a buzz around the squad, we have known each other since we were kids, the boys are firing and we are very excited.

“It’s the little things like you know how to speak to the players because you have bonded for 15 years so you know how they will react.

“You have been through it all before so you automatically have that bond, you can slip into it quickly and you know what to do for your mate next to you.”
