Boccia event a success
HAYES Cricket Club hosted a highly successful evening for disabled sports on Thursday at the clubhouse in Barnet Wood Road.
Several sporting hopefuls from across the borough tried their hand at Boccia and table tennis in the sports hall, while outside there was football and cricket to take part in.
England and Hayes Hurricanes team cricketers Lydia Greenway and Lynsey Askew were on hand to help out with the evening's events, which also included a DVD presentation from Special Olympics Great Britain on disabled sports in the south east.
Co-organiser Carroll Long was delighted with the turnout and thanked Hayes CC for staging the evening and Darrick Wood School for providing outside equipment.
