QPR welcome Championship leaders Sunderland on Saturday with their squad strengthened by the arrival of teenage sensation Dominic Shimmin.
Rangers manager Ian Holloway pounced for the 17-year-old on transfer deadline day and he will be available to line up against the Black Cats on Saturday.
Shimmin, a central defender, was a youth player at Loftus Road before moving to current Premiership champions Arsenal.
While Shimmin was the only addition to the team, striker Tony Thorpe was heading away from west London, joining Rotheram United on a month's loan.
Rangers had no match at the weekend because of international fixtures.
Brentford were also busy on deadline day, bringing in Watford strike pair Marcus Gayle and Scott Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald, a former Chelsea triallist, had scored twice on his debut against Oldham and manager Martin Allen has made his loan deal permanent.
Gayle arrives for his second spell at Griffin Park, having made 156 league appearances for The Bees between 1988 and 1994.
Brentford's promotion hopes were dealt a blow when they failed to beat stragglers Peterborough.
The Bees could only manage a 0-0 draw against The Posh, leaving them just outside the play-off zone in League One.
But they do still have a game in hand on all four teams currently occupying the play-off places and they have the same amount of points as sixth-placed Bournemouth Peterborough defender Christopher Kanu did bundle the ball over his own line following a cross from Isaiah Rankin.
But referee Paul Danson disallowed the effort after his assistant ruled that the ball had already gone out of play.
Brentford will be hoping for better when they travel to the division's basement side, Stockport County on Saturday.
