Gavin Mahon came off the bench to fire Queens Park Rangers to a late 1-0 win over nine-man Cardiff in the Championship on Saturday.
The former Watford midfielder was the match winner after 80 minutes when he headed in Peter Ramage's cross.
Cardiff were up against it after 28 minutes when they were reduced to ten men as Darren Purse was given a red card for a late tackle on Lee Cook.
Their afternoon got even worse three minutes from time when Miguel Comminges was given a second yellow for dissent.
The win sends Rangers into their glamour trip tomorrow in the Carling Cup at Manchester United in decent form.
Caretaker manager Gareth Ainsworth said: "Gavin came up with a fantastic header for us.
"We'll take the three points and we are well in touch with the top six."
