ICKENHAM ran out surprise winners in their local derby match against Uxbridge on Saturday.

Gordon Summerfield's side were propping up Division Two of the Middlesex County Cricket League at the start of play, while their opponents were sitting pretty at the other end of the table. But an 88-run victory moved Ickenham up to eighth and Uxbridge down to fourth.

After losing the toss, Ickenham were put into bat and a fine 101 from Mark Mills helped them to 262-9 before declaring.

Uxbridge could then only manage 174 with Parminder Mangat top-scoring on 55.

To cap a miserable weekend for Peter Singh's side, Uxbridge also went out of the National Knock-Out Cup on Sunday when they lost to Sussex side Three Bridges.

Singh top-scored for Uxbridge with an unbeaten 48 as Uxbridge reached 209-5 in 45 overs.

But their opponents beat that target with 27 balls to spare.

On Saturday, Uxbridge are at home to Hornsey (11.30am) while Ickenham travel to Winchmore Hill.

In Division One, Eastcote earned a point for their draw with Richmond. Their opponents were bowled out for 242 and Eastcote responded with a score of 198-8 from their 60 overs. Jon Jeffrey top-scored for David Goodchild's side with 80 while Paul Martin managed 55.

Eastcote are now seventh in the table with just seven points from five games. On Saturday they travel to Finchley.
