Queens Park Rangers kicked off their pre-season under Iain Dowie with a comfortable 3-1 win at Stevenage on Saturday.

Goals from Hogan Ephraim, Romone Rose and new signing Matteo Alberti sealed their first success of the campaign.

The R's are away to Northampton in their next test on Wednesday night.

Dowie said: "It was a useful game for us and a decent performance.

"I felt we played very well in fits and starts. There was some good passing and we created numerous opportunities.

"We wern't as clinical as we would have liked but that was on the back of a very hard draining week in Bath, and that's as tired as the lads are going to be after a pre-season game this season."
