QPR could be set to begin their summer spending spree by signing Newcastle defender Peter Ramage.

The 24-year-old has been allowed to leave the Magpies after making his final appearance as a substitute at Everton. Newcastle wanted to keep the defender but he wants to move elsewhere to secure regular first team football.

He has been linked with the R's throughout the season and is thought to be close to agreeing terms with the West London club.
