EASTCOTE crushed Hampstead by 104 runs in their Middlesex County League Division One game on Saturday, cementing their comfortable mid-table standing.
They made a solid 207-5 declared from 68 overs with Paul Martin scoring 81, and then David Goodchild, better known as a batsman in his Middlesex days, returned impressive figures of 5-38 as Hampstead were routed for 103.
Division Two side Uxbridge lie fourth in the table after beating Brentham by 23 runs. Batting first after being inserted, Uxbridge may not have regarded 176 as a winning score, Par Mangat scoring 51 against Matthew Ennion's 5-57, but it was good enough.
Brentham, despite 52 from former Surrey wicketkeeper Neil Sergeant, were all out for 153 in 44 overs, the main influence with the ball being John Hendrie, who claimed 5-56.
Ickenham are just one point behind leaders Enfield in Division Three and now ten points clear of third-placed Hampton Wick Royal as they hammered Wycombe House by eight wickets.
