Sean Maitland says that Saracens will have to be better when they travel to Cardiff Blues, despite notching up a 51-25 win over the Welsh side last weekend.

A scintillating second-half barrage from Saracens - in which they scored five tries – blew away Cardiff Blues last week at Allianz Park.

But British & Irish Lions wing Sean Maitland, who scored two of his side’s second half tries last weekend, told Saracens’ website: “It’s going to be different altogether this weekend.

“It’ll be a different atmosphere, different 4G pitch and playing away from home is always tough.

“We know we’re going to have to be a lot better, especially than the first half last week.”

Ben Earle, who scored two tries off the bench last week, comes in as one of four changes to McCall’s XV.

George Kruis replaces Nick Isiekwe in the second row, while Ben Spencer and Nick Tompkins start ahead of Richard Wigglesworth and Alex Losowski respectively.

Saracens are top of Pool 3 and will be looking to extend their unbeaten run with a win at the BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park.

But having gone into the half-time break 18-13 down last weekend after a Matthew Morgan wonder try, Saracens know that they will have to be sharper this week if they are to beat a Blues team that has only lost twice at home this season.

The Blues, who have this week been boosted by the return of Wales international Josh Navidi, need to win to keep even their faint hopes of qualification alive.

But USA international wing Blaine Scully is optimistic about his the Blues’ chances.

"As you saw from the first half, there were positives and things to take away from the way we attacked and we had some positive sets in defence too,” he said.

"In the second half, we had a couple of turnovers and opportunities which Sarries put pressure on us for, and they forced the hand a little bit, as good teams do.

"The challenge of the game is your ability to re-set, re-connect and move on to the next moment. That becomes the most important thing.

"That's something we'll look to address this week and try to get better at. That's all we can do.”
