Neil Robertson praised his opponent Graeme Dott after the pair battled it out in one of the matches of the third round at the UK Championship.

Aussie Robertson edged a thrilling 6-5 victory full of quality, with both players chalking up five breaks over fifty, Dott’s 105 in frame seven the game’s only century.

Robertson now faces Mark Allen in what is sure to be an entertain clash for a place in the quarter-finals, and he was fervent in his praise for Scotsman Dott in the previous outing.

“Barring one or two errors I thought it was a fantastic standard of match from both players,” said the Thunder from Down Under.

“Graeme played really well. I’ve been a bit unfortunate this season in that I’ve always played the guy who is at 20 in the last 32 and I’m consistently having to play really well in every single event.

“I’m really pleased with my performance in how I dug in.

“I thought I played solidly, not at my absolute best but I thought it was a fantastic match with great play all round.”
