Cheltenham potter Jack Lisowski believes a last-16 UK Championship tie against Ronnie O’Sullivan is the perfect way to measure his progress as a player.
The 27-year-old overpowered Marco FU 6-3 in their third-round tie in York and Lisowski now faces the man many believe is the greatest to have ever graced the tables.
Lisowski is still on the hunt for a maiden ranking title and knows only too well the threat the ‘Rocket’ poses.
“I’m trying to win every tournament I’ve been in, and until it happens, I won’t really believe it, I’ll keep trying my best every tournament,” he said.
“I’m really happy to be at the last 16 – it’s all good.
“It’s going to be a really good test to see where my game’s at – he can blitz people, I could not do much wrong and he could beat me 6-0, but I’m going to try and not let that happen.”
