Toni Leistner is looking to cap a spotless seven days for QPR, as they prepare to welcome Norwich to Loftus Road this weekend.

In the team’s best run of results since March 2017, Leistner is looking to extend their unbeaten league record to five games.

Having comfortably defeating London rivals Millwall 2-0 on Wednesday, the Rs have now picked up 10 points from their last four matches.

“We want the perfect week now though,” Leistner told the club website. “I think we can beat Norwich and keep this run going.

"We’re in a positive frame of mind ahead of Saturday and the dressing room is a good place to be right now.

“It’s good that the team have been able to show that they can win games again and again.”

Rangers’ wins against Millwall and Bolton made for a strong recovery after the team had lost their first four matches in the Championship, conceding 13 goals in the process.

But the turnaround since then has been remarkable, and Steve McClaren’s side have conceded once in their last four league matches.

Leistner attributes the success not to defensive solidity, however, but instead to the arrival of Tomer Hemed and Nahki Wells at the end of August.

“It was a difficult start to the season but when Tomer and Nahki joined the team it helped us change the style of play.

“The quality of the strikers has helped with that a lot. We’re now better at pressing and that has enabled us to defend more as a team.”

But they face a Norwich side who are also enjoying something of a run, winning their last two games on the bounce.

Rangers have won the last two of these corresponding fixtures, however, and Leistner believes that their stinginess at the back can help the team make it a hat-trick.

“We’re now better at pressing and that has enabled us to defend more as a team. It’s really pleasing to see that the back four and goalkeeper are now keeping clean sheets.

“We’ve managed to keep three clean sheets in our last four matches and hopefully we can continue that, but I think the whole team are defending better now.”
