Chris Robshaw has challenged Harlequins to bounce back following their 32-27 defeat to Bath Rugby last weekend.

The result made it back-to-back defeats for Quins as they head into Saturday’s Gallagher Premiership clash with Bristol Bears at Ashton Gate.

Quins’ co-captain Robshaw, who was named in Eddie Jones’ latest England squad alongside five his club teammates, said game management is key for Quins if they want to beat Bristol.

“Looking back at the game, and probably the game before, we’ve started quite well and finished well but it’s that middle part of the game which we haven’t managed well,” he said.

“But it’s about controlling that middle part of the game and getting things right then.”

Quins can expect a tight match at Ashton Gate this Saturday, as newly-promoted Bristol are also in the hunt for their first win since the opening fixture.

“It looks like a great place to go and play rugby where the crowd fully get behind them,” said Robshaw. “It’s going to be a good battle.

“They throw the ball around quite a lot, they’re scoring some points and they’re quite hard to break down.

“But you want to test yourself and it’s a great opportunity for us to bounce back and see where we are.”

The ex-England captain praised the form of James Chisholm in the back row, despite the team’s recent results, and was pleased with the attitude the No.8 has shown on and off the pitch.

“James has always been a fantastic player and he is just getting better and better as time goes on,” he said.

“He has a good head on his shoulders, he works extremely hard. He is always out on the training pitch putting that extra work in and is moving forward very nicely at the moment.”

The England training squad features six Quins players, including international regulars Robshaw, Mike Brown, Joe Marler and Kyle Sinckler, while there is a first call up for winger Nathan Earle and a return to the squad for scrum-half Danny Care.
