HE may have grabbed his first goal of the season but Florian Jozefzoon admits he would take that back in exchange for three points against Sunderland.

The winger’s sublime free-kick sparked a second-half revival as Brentford came from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 at Griffin Park.

Lewis Grabban’s double either side of a Daniel Bentley own goal put the Black Cats in command after Nico Yennaris had put the hosts ahead.

But Jozefzoon’s effort combined with a late deflected Neal Maupay strike secured a point although the Dutch winger was hoping for all three.

“It was nice to contribute but the important thing is the team,” the 26-year-old said.

“We didn’t play well in the first-half and we knew that at half-time. It was a really important time to get that goal at the start of the second-half.

“It gave us belief and we were able to make it 3-3 at the end. We aren’t happy because we thought we should have won the game but at least we didn’t lose. Extending our unbeaten run is good: it just gives us that bit more confidence going forward.”

Jozefzoon has contributed four assists and a goal in the last four matches for the Bees and believes his hard work on the training ground is paying off.

He said: “It is always good when you are able to contribute to the team. I have been doing a lot of work with the coaches on set-pieces so I’m really happy to have scored one but I would rather have got the three points.

“We have people scoring from all over the pitch which shows how well we are playing. Opposition teams can’t just mark our strikers out of the game. If they mark our strikers then we have myself, Nico Yennaris, Romaine Sawyers, and others who can all score.”
