Brentford will be hoping to pick up their first Championship win of the season as they head to the Macron Stadium to face bottom side Bolton on Saturday.

The Bees are looking to bounce back after being knocked out of the Carabo Cup by Norwich City on Tuesday.

Bolton have lost six of their first eight Championship games this season, and Brentford manager Dean Smith will be optimistic that his side can earn the full three points on Saturday.

Smith said: “Bolton is very important to us and we’ll have a lot of fresh players come back for that.

“We go into every game trying to win and there will be no let-up on that.

“The determination has been fierce from the players. Our determination to get that win is no less than it was on the first day. Expectation and pressure is only built up from outside.

“The pressure we put on ourselves in the eighth or ninth game is no different to the first game. All you can do is go out to try and win a football game and that is what we will try to do.

“On the whole, our supporters have been very patient. They want to see wins and we want to feel wins. They have been patient but we have to go and perform to get the wins for the supporters.”

After resting several first-team players against Norwich midweek, Smith will be able to field a strong line-up against Phil Parkinson’s side.

Ollie Watkins, Ryan Woods and Ryan Bentley are all likely to start after being rested against Norwich.

Josh McEachran managed his first full 90 minutes for the side against Norwich after he fractured his foot in early August.

The prospect of the ex-Chelsea man earning his second successive start will provide a big boost for the side.

Right-back Henrik Dalsgaard may also return after recovering from a week-long layoff.

Dalsgaard was knocked unconscious against Sheffield Wednesday, but his rapid recovery has been a pleasant surprise for the Bees.

However, Alan Judge remains out with a broken leg and Sergi Canos also looks set to miss out with an ankle injury he sustained last week against Aston Villa.

Meanwhile, Bolton will be without Josh Vela, who is out long-term with ankle ligament damage.

But David Wheater, who has been suffering from a back problem, may feature after he made the bench in Bolton’s midweek clash against West Ham.
