Brentford will have to be on their toes against Norwich City on Tuesday evening, with Canaries boss Daniel Farke insisting he relishes the all-or-nothing mentality of cup showdowns.

Dean Smith’s Bees are winless in the league this season, but victories at AFC Wimbledon and Queens Park Rangers have set up the Griffin Park Carabao Cup third round tie with Farke’s men.

Smith will again have to go without influential pair Lasse Vibe and Sergi Canos, who are absent with respective foot and ankle problems.

Brentford battled to a 1-1 draw against Reading on Saturday, while Norwich registered a hard-earned victory against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

Farke has promised to ring the changes for Norwich, but added this was not with a means of demeaning the value of the competition.

"We will have some changes, but not because it's just the cup," he said. "We want to have some fresh legs on the pitch, especially after such a hard game in Sheffield.

"I like these do-or-die games, whether you win and everything is great, or you lose and are really disappointed.

"I like to have tasks that seem to be unreachable, but in the cup you can reach some extraordinary things, and that's why I pay so much attention to this competition."
